Course Description and Content

This course includes clinical case scenarios of patients presenting with apparent mechanical musculoskeletal pain, but who have instead, serious underlying disorders that you don’t want to miss! For each patient, the course covers key aspects of the patient’s history and examination, clinical reasoning, exclusion of red flags and several examination videos.

Unit 1 – Prostate cancer metastasis presenting as low back pain
Unit 2 – Abdominal aortic aneurysm presenting as back pain
Unit 3 – Vertebral artery dissection presenting as neck pain and headache
Unit 4 – Osteosarcoma presenting as shoulder pain
Unit 5 – Lung cancer presenting as thoracolumbar pain

Red Flag Recognition and Patient Examination Videos

The course includes a set of questions that you can ask your patients to help identify any red flags that indicate the presence of serious underlying conditions. Relevant clinical examination videos are also included for you to sharpen your clinical skills.
